Cut off times

All events will have a cut-off time 2.5 hours from the start time. The Sweep of each course will apply the cut off times. The Sweep will move forward systematically notifying participants when the cut off time is applied. The Sweep will notify participants that course support will now cease and all course marshals will be relieved from their posts at 12:40 (or earlier in the event if all participants have passed them prior to this cut off) Participants will then have the option to continue at their own risk or to proceed to a pick up point with the Sweep and call for a lift. Participants in the forest may be picked up by an approved vehicle and returned to the start line should they choose this option. Participants in accessible areas will need to arrange their own personal pick up.

This means an average pace of 8:20min/km in the 18km trail run and 7:06min/km in the half marathon and 14:09min/km in the 10.6km event.

Ekiden Team Marathon Challenge

Grab your mates and enter a team in the inaugural Ekiden Team Marathon Challenge!

Cover the 42.2km of the marathon together as a team, by combining the distances of your events. Options are:

  • Team of 4 – All runners participate in the 1/4 Marathon.
  • Team of 3 – 2 runners participate in the 1/4 Marathon and 1 runner participates in the 1/2 Marathon.
  • Team of 2 – Both runners participate in the 1/2 Marathon.

The team with the lowest points wins.

Points are awarded for the positions in which team members cross the line overall in their respective events, for example, if an athlete comes 5th overall but is the 1st female in the half marathon, this athlete will score 5 points for their team. Total combined points are then divided by the number of team members. The team with the lowest points win.

Participants in this category are not eligible for individual awards.

Teams must enter a team name upon entry.
