Yes, Ski Team is back, not really bigger or better, but slightly more familiar than before and with a new skier ranking list. And woah, the prizes, wait till you hear about the prizes, yes keep waiting as the prizes haven't been finalised yet. But they do say good things come to those who wait.
The rules are basically the same as last year. The only major change is that you have a budget of 500 points with which to select your team instead of 600. Choose your team wisely - many coaches were left disappointed in 1997 when some of their star recruits failed to front to races or were injured.
Rules
You have 500 points from which to select a team of five skiers from the skier ranking list. Each team must have at least two skiers of each sex. Other Australians not on the list may be included in teams at a cost of 20 points. International skiers may not be selected, however they will be used in the points calculations.

Skiers receive points from top 30 placings in the following races:

Victorian 5/15 km Championship

Australian 15/30 km Championship

Australian 5/10 km Championship

Australian 10/15 km Championship

Kangaroo Hoppet 42km

The points system used is the same as for World Cup competition; 100 points for first place, 80 for second, 60, 50, 45, 40, 36, 32, 29, 26, 24, 22, 20, 18, 16, 15, and so on down to 1 point for 30th place. Teams must be entered the day before the first race on Saturday August 8. A maximum of three teams is allowed per person.
